Dont Trust Mitt With A Mutt…

Much less the presidency of the United States and leader of the free world! A little known fact about Mitt Romney is that when The Romney family took a 12 road trip to vacation in Canada, he made the 12 hour drive with his dog Seamus strapped to the roof of his car.

Back in 1983, Romney was struggling to cram the kids and their luggage into the family station wagon for the drive to the Lake Huron shores, where his family still owns a cottage at Beach O’ Pines, a mostly American enclave.

“Before beginning the drive, Mitt Romney put Seamus, the family’s hulking Irish setter, in a dog carrier and attached it to the station wagon’s roof rack,” the Globe wrote of Romney, then a 36-year-old management consultant with Boston-based Bain and Company.

Romney constructed a special windshield for the carrier, “to make the ride more comfortable for the dog.” The contraption apparently wasn’t much of a success, however, as Seamus soon began to suffer gastric issues from his windy perch atop the car.

Romney’s oldest boy, Tagg, noticed the first sign of trouble, according to the Globe piece.

“Dad!” he yelled. “Gross!” A brown liquid was dripping down the back window of the station wagon.

Romney calmly dealt with the problem amid his boys’ howls of disgust, pulling into a service station to hose down Seamus and the car. He put the dog back in the crate and continued the drive to Ontario.

It was even bad enough for Chris Wallace to actually question him on it!

Rescuer’s Prayer: Healing Mantra

April 6th, 2011 by admin2

Let us universally accept that we are all responsible for the creation of our original thoughts and emotions.

Let us universally accept that our thoughts, feelings and actions attract like thoughts, feelings and actions.

Let us universally recreate these thoughts, feelings and actions with unconditional love on all counts and without exception.

Let us universally send out pure unconditional love for the collective good of all rescue and animal communities, so that they too may benefit from our positive love and healing.

Let us listen and love without judgment, enabling us to heal ourselves, while healing others.  Let us see the protective light of love that surrounds each and every one of us, humans and animals alike.

Let our positive mantra assist us with the universal transitioning of all negatives back to a positive, unconditional love, ultimately healing the world one heart, paw and claw at a time.

Reward Increased In Dead Dog Case

“This incident was heinous,” says Shannon Gagliano with Saving The Animals Of Rowan County.
The animal rescue group is upset and angry after it says a dog was left for dead near the Farmers Sharkey exit ramp on I-64 Northbound earlier this week.
“His mouth and muzzle had been taped shut with electrical tape,” says Gagliano.
And she says animal abuse like this is nothing new to this state and something needs to be done, “For the third year in a row, Kentucky is ranked number one for animal cruelty cases and that’s not a title that we want. Our three legislators here locally have stepped in and dug in for the fight and I think everybody in Kentucky needs to ask their representatives and senators what they’re doing to help this.”
Serita was rescued by STAR and the group is trying to prevent more animals like her from being abandoned and left for dead.
“For some people, circumstances change and they can’t care for them. A lot of people don’t know we can take them to the pound. A lot of it is, if we take them to the pound, they’re going to be put down. But, that’s not the case, we will find a home for them,” comments Gagliano.
If you have any information on this most recent incident, call the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. The humane society is offering a $4,000 reward for information leading to whoever is responsible for the dog’s death.
